Registered Health Information Technician

A Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is a professional who specializes in the management of healthcare information. To become an RHIT, individuals must pass the certification examination offered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). To be eligible to take the exam, candidates must have completed an accredited health information technology program and have completed a certain number of on-the-job experience hours.
